Singapore PR approved: what happens next
After approval ICA issues an In-Principle Approval (IPA) letter with the conditions you must fulfil. You then attend the ICA Services Centre in person at an assigned appointment to complete the formalities, paying S$120 — S$20 Entry Permit, S$50 five-year Re-Entry Permit and S$50 Identity Card. Your PR status starts at completion of formalities; the identity card can be collected from one week later and must be collected within three months. The IPA letter itself does not guarantee entry into Singapore.

Download the outcome letter and IPA
The notification appears in the ICA e-Service when the status is In-Principle Approval. The outcome letter is available online for up to two months from issuance.

Fulfil the conditions in the IPA
The letter lists administrative details and conditions — for example documents to bring and any medical requirements. Read it in full; ICA's page states successful applicants “will be granted permanent residence status once they have fulfilled the necessary conditions”.

Attend the assigned appointment
Applicants and the sponsor must be present in person at the ICA Services Centre. Applications from 26 June 2024 receive an assigned appointment slot in the e-Service, which can be changed through the online appointment system; earlier applications book their own.

Pay S$120 and receive your permits
Entry Permit S$20 (allows one entry and remaining in Singapore), Re-Entry Permit S$50 (five-year, allows travel while retaining PR), Identity Card S$50.

Collect your identity card
Book an IC-collection appointment from one week after formalities; collect within three months. Applications from 26 June 2024 need the 'Date of Issue' shown in the e-Service to book.
If you cannot complete formalities in time
For applications submitted from 26 June 2024, request an extension in the ICA e-Service under 'Proceed to Complete Formalities' → 'Request for Extension'; for earlier applications, use the enquiry form. Extensions are “subject to ICA's consideration”.

When does my PR status actually start?
At completion of formalities, when the Entry Permit is issued. Until then you hold an In-Principle Approval.
Do I need a medical examination?
Any medical requirement is stated in your IPA letter. ICA's public page does not list one for every applicant; follow the letter.
Can my sponsor skip the appointment?
ICA states that applicants and the sponsor who received the IPA must be present in person to complete the formalities.
What if I miss the IC collection window?
ICA states the IC must be collected within three months after completing formalities. Contact ICA before the window closes if you cannot attend.
